Safeguarding – Autumn 2025

As part of The Safeguarding at St. Michael’s and All Saints’ we need to ensure that we are up to date with our Safeguarding Training.

BASIC TRAINING

Basic (Level 1) Training is needed by our PCC members, group leaders and helpers and those with official roles.

In addition, anyone else is welcome and, indeed, invited to participate.

If you have done the training within the last 6 months you don’t need re-do the training.

Ideally the training (which takes 1 to 1.5 hours) would be taken online. This means that you can do it where and when you wish AND, because you login, it means there is an official record of the training.

If you are not able to do that we offer a group session for Basic Training.

Here are the details you need.

ONLINE TRAINING

  • To login, you need a username and password.
  • Then choose “Basic Awareness 24-25” and complete the course.
  • Once you have completed the course, or if you have completed the course already, please also fill in this part…
  • Back on the Safeguarding Portal home page, please go to the top right and “Update Profile” and at the bottom of the page complete it like this:
  • Adding in Lois’ Email means our Parish Safeguarding Officers have a record of who has completed what training.

GROUP TRAINING

  • If the above does not work for you, please join us on Monday 6 October at 2pm at The Church Hall (or Jim Heath Room) at St. Michael’s.
  • There we can go through the course together. The aim is to then let the Diocesan record keepers know who has completed the course.

LETTING US KNOW

It would be really helpful to ket us know what and how you will complete your training. Please also contact us with any questions.
